Year-End Prayer Meeting and Countdown

December 31, 2005

On the New Year Eve, more than 100 brothers and sisters gathered at Hope Centre for the count down prayer meeting.

A powerful praise and worship, led by Sister Sylvia, was filled with joy and love to celebrate the coming of 2006. Before starting our prayer, Pastor Garvin shared Matthew 6:24 “No man can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.” which reminded us that our life is belong to God and He is our master.

The prayer started with thanksgiving to God for a fruitful 2005, with 309 brothers and sisters having accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior and 85 brothers and sisters being water baptized. We all thanked Him for the success in our 13th Anniversary & Celebration Banquet, Church Camp and Christmas Outreach and Service. Thanks God for His blessings on the mission trips to Taipei, Tokyo and Seoul, and a successful mission fund.

After taking communion, brothers and sisters continued to pray for personal needs in three areas – physical, emotion, mental, such as good health, correct mindset, career and study, good management in finance. Pastor Garvin encouraged brothers and sisters living our life by following God wholeheartedly. For the spiritual aspect, we prayed for greater faith and provision, deeper in His words and love, breakthrough in our life. By the end of the prayer meeting, Pastor Gavin also reminded us the three mains directions of our church in 2005 are the planting of new churches, serving the society and growing disciples.

When the time was getting close to midnight, we sang our praises to welcome 2006. The whole church was overwhelmed by joy, love and warmth in the beginning of the new year. Let’s keep on evangelize and be united to expand His kingdom  in 2006.
