Christmas Celebration

It was an ever- most chilly Christmas day. Brothers, sisters and visitors came to the church with the hearts on fire despite the weather.

Brother Allen lead us to sing joyful Praise and Worship to celebrate Jesus’s birth.

A video testimony followed. Brother Jack from the youth group testified his radical change in life upon accepting Christ. He was turned from a self-centred person to a Christ centered one, willing to support his leaders in caregroup building. He had also quitted smoking and drinking. Brother Jay, a HongKong born Chinese bought up in the Philippines, testify God’s goodness after he committed to serve in the church’s Filipino group. He was so encouraged by the evangelistic fire and sacrificial spirit of the Filipino Sisters. Sister Rosa, who has been serving in the Praise and Worship ministry, thanks God for all the strength, blessing and anointing that comes with wholehearted serving.

Then came the hands show by Filipino group. The theme of the show is Jesus’s love for this world.

The theme of the Christmas service was “We are the reason”. Pastor Gavin shared on John 38:17 “You are a king, then!” said Pilate. Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”

Indeed Jesus came to the world as a king, but not in a worldly sense. He intends kingship in our hearts. Jesus also came to testify the truth and save us from sins. One of the greatest needs of human beings is our transgression forgiven. So Jesus died on the cross for us to live.

Pastor Gavin then encouraged all visitors to receive this gift of salvation from God. Praise God there was total 24 newly salvated soul.

The service was closed in joyful Christmas Carols. May the “reason” of Christmas encourage each one of us and let’s declare Jesus’s kingship in our lives.
