Christmas Celebration

December 23, 2012

The theme of this year Christmas service is “The Newborn king”. Indeed it is a celebration of our great King’s birthday.

The Praise and Worship was joyous and powerful. It was then followed by video testimony of three brothers and sisters. They all shared about how their lives have been changed after knowing Jesus.

Then was drama that took us back to the night Jesus was born. The good news of the newborn saviour was first preached to the shepherds and three wisemen. They all celebrated in joy when they found where Jesus was.

The Sermon was on Luke 2:10-12, entitled “Good News bring great Joy”.
The joy from Jesus’s good news surpasses all circumstances. Jesus talked about joy even in his last moments on earth, anticipating much suffering. “I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. John 15:11. Joy enables us to move on despite various difficulties.

Jesus’s coming bring forth great joy. This message is not about judgement. Instead,Jesus is bringing us peace and redemption. He comes to dwell in our life, that we will have the power to overcome sin and death as the great King is living within us.

The sermon is concluded with an altar call. There were many who had responded to the Lord and received Jesus as their personal saviour. Jesus has definitely planted a seed of joy in the newly believed. Glory to God!
