Water Baptism

Thank God for bringing us this beautiful sunny day !

On this day, 14 brothers and sisters, ranging in age from under 9 to over 80,from Sunday School, Professional, Youth, Filipino, and Thai Group, were going to take Water Baptism to affirm their dedication to follow Jesus. Hallelujah !

At 3:30pm, around 100 brothers and sisters gathered at Lido Beach, and brother Wai Hong, with the interpretation of brother Jun, started the Water Baptism ceremony. Sister Elaine, with guitar playing by sister Stephanie, led a wonderful praise and worship, creating a joyful atmosphere.

Pastor Gavin then explained the meaning of baptism, stating that the crossing of the Red Sea symbolised water baptism. Just as God rescued the Israelites from slavery in Egypt, water baptism saves us from sin. Walking through the Red Sea represents being baptised into the waters, while rising from the water symbolises the resurrection of Christ and our new life in Him. Baptism is thus a manifestation that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life, enabling our connection with God via the transformation into a new creation.

Then they were reminded that 2 questions would be asked during the process:

• Do you accept Jesus to be your Lord and Savior ?
• Will you still follow Christ whatever the situation ?

Afterward, certificates were presented, and Pastor Gavin led all the brothers and sisters in a heartfelt prayer, asking for God’s blessings upon those who were going to be baptised.

Throughout the process, brothers and sisters sang praise and worship songs, celebrating this memorable occasion in one spirit. Flowers and souvenirs were presented to those being baptized, and photos were taken too. Their smiling faces and joyful hearts were a powerful testimony of God’s love and salvation.
