Caring the Community, Sharing God’s Love #1

Mar 27, 2026

Thank God for His guidance in extending our care to the community ! A combined Easter and birthday celebration was successfully held for the elders at the Y Care Centre of the Hong Kong Young Women’s Christian Association in Yau Yat Chuen. 6 dedicated brothers and sisters, together with Pastor Arlene, gathered to bring joy, love, and fellowship to the elders, reflecting the hope and promise of Easter.

16 elders arrived at 10:00am, including 8 whose birthdays were celebrated that day. The program began with a warm introduction and an opening prayer led by sister Elaine. The birthday celebration then commenced, filling the atmosphere with song as everyone joined in a cheerful chorus. Birthday cake was shared and blessing bags containing daily necessities were distributed to the elders.

To promote engagement and vitality, sister Sammie led the elders in gentle exercises, guided by a video that encouraged movement and laughter. The event then transitioned to a creative activity, where the elders were invited to craft with colorful clay on wooden frames. The symbolic meanings of the colors were explained:

  1. Green – creation from God and His abundant provision
  2. Gray – corruption and separation through sin
  3. Red – salvation through the precious blood of Jesus
  4. White – righteousness through confession in faith and purification
  5. Yellow – God’s glory representing eternal life and resurrection hope

This activity thoughtfully tied into the Easter message of God’s love, reinforced by the powerful words of John 3:16.

The highlight of the day was the personal connection. Each elder received individual care through conversation, prayer, and heartfelt blessings offered by the brothers and sisters. The joy of fellowship was apparent, and the event was further graced when 1 elder accepted Christ, manifesting God’s love and the hope of resurrection.

Thank you Jesus ! Let us faithfully continue to share His love and the Gospel with the community !
