Father’s Day 2026
Jun 21 , 2026
Praise the Lord ! It was a joyful Sunday that brothers and sisters gathered for our Father’s Day Service. Prior to the service, families and their fathers captured special moments at our themed photo booth.
The service began at 11:00am. Pastor Gavin shared the Bible verse from Genesis 1:27 in the Refreshing Moment highlighting that fathers, like all humans, are reflecting the image of Heavenly Father. Turning to Psalm 18:2, he described fathers as a rock and a fortress who protect their families through silent strength. In closing, Pastor Gavin encouraged fathers on earth to root their parenting in biblical love and truth. In times of trouble, he cited Isaiah 41:10 reminding fathers that they can find ultimate courage, strength, and faith by staying rooted in God.
Brother Jun led the powerful praise and worship session, followed by the Holy Communion. Then brother Alex shared an encouraging testimony of God’s abundant grace throughout the seasons of his life. He spoke of the joys and challenges of raising his first daughter, navigating the premature birth of his son, and overcoming the subsequent health and financial burdens tied to his son. Remarkably, his father also accepted Christ during this season. While the journey was deeply difficult, especially his son’s medical struggles, brother Alex quoted the Bible verse from 2 Corinthians 12:9, highlighting that His grace is entirely sufficient to carry us through every financial, emotional, or physical burden we encounter.
Beyond this wonderful testimony, a video was displayed showcasing letters written to fathers by brothers and sisters. A touching atmosphere was created as the content of the letters was narrated by brothers and sisters, allowing gratitude and deep appreciation for fathers to be expressed.
A sermon themed Anchoring Acceptance was delivered by Pastor Arlene, drawing from the Bible verses from Luke 15:11-24. The parable of the prodigal son was highlighted. Despite the hurtful actions of the son, the father did not respond with judgement but granted his request for his share of the estate. This mirrors God’s acceptance of humanity despite its sinful nature. Even when we follow our own way, His arms remain open to us.
A mindset of unworthiness is often experienced during periods of wrongdoing, which may lead to attempts to earn God’s love and forgiveness through good deeds. Upon repentance and returning to the Heavenly Father, the Scriptures reveal that He has compassion and runs to us while we are still a long way off, illustrating His strong desire to restore the relationship with us. Through the death of Jesus on the cross, we have been freely given the divine identity, authority, and freedom which enable us to walk in the fullness of an abundant life.
Praise be unto our Heavenly Father ! Let’s keep anchoring in His unconditional love, and keep growing in Him !
