Water Baptism II

August 3, 2014

“This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Praise God! 45 brothers and sisters including two brothers in their 80s and 90s made the decision to follow God’s way, to be baptised into His name. Despite their age they chose to follow and submit. This is a new church record of the oldest being baptised.

Even though under the scorching sun, over 100 brothers and sisters supported the baptism with joy in unity. The event started with a prayer to commit to God then followed by praise and worship led by Youth. Ps. Gavin explained that crossing of the Red Sea symbolised water baptism. Burying our old self and living a new life, walking according to God’s direction. Through water baptism, we receive His grace to have a close relationship with Him and experience miracles in our “new life”.

The whole congregation was invited to lay hands and pray for blessings over brothers and sisters who will be baptised. Pastor then presented certificates to all of them before inviting them to the water.

While the baptism took place, singing of praises to our God continued. Everyone was immersed in the joy of The Lord, celebrating lives submitted to God’s leading. Token of love were presented to the brothers and sisters by their care group who were baptised. Many family members came to support and encourage them.

May all glory and honor be to the Lord, these “new lives” will grow and be blessed according to God’s riches. Witnessing the love of God wherever they go.
