Mother’s Day

May 10, 2015

God created mothers to be a special blessing to the family.  A mother’s heart is simply unique. Loving, caring, and always there for her children.  Many brothers and sisters invited their mothers and friends, they came in early to take a photo at the sweet photography corner.

Brother Jack led the opening prayer and welcoming and sister Rosa led the congregation into high-spirited praise and worship, reflecting God’s love in every song.  Sister June testified of how God changed her life as she began to grow and serve the Lord. With gratitude for all HE has done in her life and her family, she committed both her children to God.  Though her daughter is in Canada, God answered her prayer to open a door for her to find a church.  She understood more about tithing through teaching in camp and learnt that it was a blessing. Thus, she also started tithing.  She learnt to keep her focus on God, believe and receive.

A pre-recorded video of the children speaking love from their hearts to mothers was presented.  Mothers were invited to stage and presented with a beautiful fan.  After photo taking, Pastor Gavin prayed over the mothers and blessed them.

Pastor Arlene preached a sermon on Acts 16:31 that when we believe in the Lord, our household will also be saved.  She titled the sermon ‘A blessing for you and your household’ with two points ‘Put our trust in the Lord Jesus Christ’ and ‘You are the key to the door of salvation of your family’.  It clearly explained that ‘saved’ includes salvation, protection, healing, blessed, completeness and not lacking.  We, who have accepted Christ will begin to live a life to glorify His name, shine forth His light and attract others to Him.  After the sermon, she invited mothers to come forward for a prayer of blessing and also an altar call for salvation.

A reception with treats of cookies and tea was prepared and served to mothers. The photography carried on for those who had not had a chance to do so. The service ended with a warm, sweet note.

Praise God for this warmth and joyful day in our family

Thank you mums for all you have done
