Friends Day

You are my friend and I am yours !
It was time of the year for our Friends Day. Brothers and sisters together with their family and friends streamed into the Tai Lam BBQ site.

We had a wonderful day together worshiping our Lord, hearing the wonderful testimony by sis Amanda of how Jesus Christ her best friend blessed her with more friends in her life.
And listening to the Word of God that refreshed us.
Just like the light shower throughout the day, We know not only about the grace of God that we received daily, His Word also remind us that God’s desire is for us to love one another. John 13:34 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another ”. We draw strength from Him to love. Pastor Gavin shared about the Samaritan who helped the man and paid the inn keeper to take care of him. He described the Samaritan as Jesus who had come to pay for our sins to redeem us once and for all.
The congregation responded to His Words and even our pre-believers friends took the step of faith to receive Jesus as their Lord and savior.

Praise God that the day gave us opportunity to show our love and care for each other. As our BBQ started people began to bring on trays of BBQ food for sharing. Serving each other, sitting around the stove and chatting away. New friends were made, relationships were further strengthen.

As the day continued, another opportunity for cooperation came ! It was game time ! Friends of different ages and different language came together enjoying themselves and cheering on each other. We saw the love blooming though our smiles.

Friends made are friends for life.
Let us see each other’s need rather than our desire.
Just like Jesus who is our friend forever and forever.
