Mother’s Day 2022

May 8, 2022

Praise God for the Mother’s Day. It was time to celebrate and express our love to our mother!

Thank God that we have resumed face-to-face Sunday Service in the church after a period of serious pandemic. Many brothers and sisters came in early with their mothers to grab the opportunity to take a wonderful photo of having a feast with Jesus Christ (the well-decorated layout) before the service started.

Pastor Gavin started with a morning prayer time, by sharing Romans 5:1-5. Everyone of us can have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we also have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

After having a wonderful praise and worship led by sister Elaine and the team, sister Elaine testified how God blessed her family and healed her elder brother. Thank God that Elaine’s brother and her mother accepted Jesus Christ while her brother was suffering from a serious illness. Moreover, God healed her brother by decreasing cerebral bleed. Although her brother is still hospitalized now with an unknown diagnosis, she believes that God will continue to lead her brother and the whole family with mercy and love. Besides, she thanked God that after sharing and praying with the care group members, her anxiety disappeared. She ended the testimony by sharing Proverbs 17:22, “a cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”

Then there was a “Stress Relief Lucky Draw” interaction with mothers and five mothers were invited to join it. They were drawn to punch to a cushion, do exercise, watch funny movies and have deep breathing exercise respectively. They rated these methods from 3 to 8 out of 9 points that could help to relieve stress. However, a mother (sister Lolita) with a big smile said that trusting and relying on Jesus Christ is the best way to relieve stress because Our Heavenly Father always accompanies us and gives peace and joy to us. This method was rated 10 points which was full marks.

After that, all mothers were invited to the stage for photo taking and prayers. They received a beautiful flower as a gift. Pastor Gavin then prayed for them to have good health, a joyful heart and a peaceful spirit every day.

Pastor Arlene preached on the topic “Peaceful Mama” from Romans 15:13. Life can be full of challenges and worries. But when we accept Jesus Christ as our personal saviour, our life can turn to be full of joy, peace and hope. By the power of the Holy Spirit that Jesus gives us, fear cannot enter our life, instead His perfect peace enters our heart and our life. We just need to trust and rely on Jesus Christ!

Thank God for the day! Happy Mother’s Day !
