Mother’s Day 2023

May 14, 2023

Glory be to God for all our wonderful mothers.  This is our first Mother’s Day celebration in Hope Oasis.

Many brothers and sisters came in early with their mothers to take photos at our beautifully decorated, colourful photo corner.  Love could be felt in the air through their joyful smiles and conversation.

In the Refreshing Moment,Pastor Gavin started with a prayer, and words of encouragement honouring mother’s commitments to the family.   Followed by sharing on how to pursue excellence, turning ‘From mediocrity to excellence’, and giving glory to our Father in Heaven.   Excel and be who we are through knowing our identity and taking an extra step no matter at home, in ministry, or in our daily lives.  (Eph 3:20 )

Brother Tedy greeted all and wished all mothers Happy Mother’s Day,  and invited all to welcome, and bless each other.  Sis Stephanie led us to worship God joyfully. Praise God for this wonderful home, uniting us together, almost all seats were filled and everyone was filled with joy.

Sis Elaine testified how she relied on God in her journey of being a mother,  through all challenges and balancing church ministry and family life, trusting and committing her children and family to God.  She speaks of how life influences lives in the family of God.

Praise God,  a video of a few brothers and sisters being interviewed on the journey of their mothers accepting Christ.  It was so encouraging.  Mothers were then invited to the stage for photo taking and prayer blessings.

Pastor Arlene shared the sermon on ‘Mothers received lifelong blessings’

(Isaiah 49:13-16).  The best everlasting gift that we can give to our mothers is Jesus, the source of all blessings. The one and only, who loves us to the extent of sacrificing His life so that we can have eternal life, and peace that money cannot buy.  God not only never forgets us, He takes us most precious in His heart, and we are always in the palm of His hands.

May God bless all mothers in every way.  Happy Mother’s Day !
