Father’s Day 2025

Jun 15, 2025

Praise God for Father’s Day ! We thank the Lord for the opportunity to celebrate this special day together and express our love for our dads at church.

Many brothers and sisters came joyfully with their fathers and captured beautiful photos at the well-decorated castle-themed photo corner, featuring the slogan “You Are My Hero,” before the service began.

During the “Refreshing Moment,” Pastor Gavin inspired us to reflect on the top priority in our lives. Not just for fathers, but for all of us who are often busy with many things—it reminded us that the most important pursuit is drawing closer to God. Referencing Ezra 3:2–3, we were encouraged that as we prioritize God, His divine protection will follow.

After a powerful praise and worship session led by brother Chi Ho and the team, the congregation partook in communion in one spirit. Then sister Loretta shared her testimony about the deep love of both her “Fathers.” She thanked God for her earthly father, who has lovingly cared for their family, and for her Heavenly Father, with whom she can share everything. Through church gatherings and fellowship, she found love, hope, and guidance from God. She prayed for the Lord to continue leading her life and for her biological father to accept Christ soon. She also shared the verse from Jeremiah 33:3: “Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known,” as a reminder for all to draw closer to God.

Then came a lively Kung Fu performance by the fathers ! They displayed their moves with flair and waved flags with swagger. The performance brought out a beautiful message: even though fathers carry the flag for their families, they rely on our Heavenly Father to uphold and guide them. Just as in our lives, Jesus carries our burdens and leads us to victory. The whole church loved the performance !

All the fathers were then invited on stage to receive a blessing gift and take group photos. Pastor Gavin prayed over them, asking for God’s anointing to be the head of their families. We prayed for strength, good health, and for God to clearly lead fathers as they guide their households in His ways and follow Jesus Christ.

Finally, Pastor Arlene delivered a powerful message titled “Fathers, God-Appointed Heads of the Household.” She shared the encouragement from Joshua 24:15: “As for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.” Pastor Arlene reminded us that fathers are not meant to carry excessive burdens or rely solely on their own strength. God’s heart is for them to enjoy and delight in the role of fatherhood. Even in challenges and difficulties, God sees our weaknesses and does not despise them. In His lovingkindness, He rescues us and brings us into a spacious place—free from distress and misfortune—as written in Psalm 31:7–8. She encouraged fathers to follow Joshua’s example by leading both their families and their spiritual households with God’s truth and love. We prayed that the Lord would grant them courage to stand firm against worldly influences, wisdom to build their homes, and gentleness to reflect Jesus Christ’s character.

Following the service, a selection of teas with various flavours was served next to the photo corner, quite a number of fathers enjoyed and were thankful for the special arrangement.

Happy Father’s Day !

May the peace and joy of the Lord be with all fathers always.
