Joyful Elders (樂在耆中) – Kindness Activity 2025
May 5, 2025
Praise God for the wonderful weather and another opportunity to spread love ! Today is our “Joyful Elders (樂在耆中)” activity. Brothers and sisters came in excitedly to prepare and set up the venue. Guests started coming in around 10:45am, and our event started at 11:00am.
We welcomed all warmly and with a prayer. There were around 20 elders, and we also thank God for the support of brothers and sisters from other groups. Lots of simple but fun activities were lined up. We started with an ice-breaking game where they had to try to act against their words. Their mouths said a number but their fingers had to show a different number. It was challenging but they actively played and had fun. Following it was a range of simple seated exercises. Unbelievably, all of them were so engaged and were having fun.
A video “The Great Gift” about acceptance and encouragement regardless of identity led us to reflect that everyone needs to be loved and accepted. At 12:00pm, we had our lunch,it was a great time with Dim Sum and love fellowship. There were lots of sharing and laughter and ended at 1:00pm.
In the second part of the activity, all of us sang praises and also learned that singing is good for our health too. The fun went on with a simple game of rolling balls down a metal measuring tape into a container. They helped each other, and all had a small gift for participating. Next was a video testimony of a couple’s life and the changes after accepting Christ. Pastor Arlene then shared more of God’s love with the participants, suggesting that it might be good to share more of health information in the next “Joyful Elders (樂在耆中)” activity. Then she made an altar call. Praise God, a sister’s father accepted Christ. Afterward, the MC invited all to our upcoming Mother’s Day and Father’s Day Sunday services. Also each was given a bag of gifts, which included a warm-water bottle, tea leaves, a handmade craft, and two pears.
The activity ended around 1:45pm with a group photo. Thank God for guiding us to have the wonderful way of spreading His love. Praise be unto our Lord !
