Mother’s Day 2025

May 11, 2025

Praise God for Mother’s Day. It’s time for us to celebrate and express our love to our beloved mothers.

Many brothers and sisters came in early with their mothers to grab the opportunity to take a wonderful photo at the well-decorated photo corner before the service started.

At 11:00am, Pastor Gavin began to share “Unchanging God in Changing Seasons” during the Refreshing Moment. The Bible tells us, “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever” (Isaiah 40:8). Seasons may change, but God’s love, through the steadfastness and faith of our mothers, always helps us to stand strong. His words warm and comfort us in winter (Psalm 119:50); awaken and strengthen our faith in spring (John 15:7); strengthen our endurance in summer (Psalm 73:26); and enable us to product and harvest for His glory in autumn (John 15:8). Our God remains by our side through all seasons.

Then brother Andy led a wonderful praise and worship to glorify God. Following communion as one spirit, brother Sam and sister Vicky testified how God blessed their wedding ceremony and thanked their parents for raising them. Brother Sam testified that God had prepared good weather and wonderful ceremony place for them that everyone enjoyed. Sister Vicky thanked God for being faithful as her mother accepted Jesus Christ last Mother’s Day and enjoyed the Christian life in our church. Before that, she had prayed for her mother to accept the salvation from God since she was young. They finally shared the Bible verse from Acts 16:31, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

A wonderful song, presented by a group of church children alongside their parent and family through a video, was one of the highlights. It was deeply touching and brought back cherished memories of mothers and their children with photos presenting. Afterward, all the mothers were invited to the stage for photos and prayers. Each received a beautiful bouquet of flowers as a gift. Pastor Gavin then led the congregation in a prayer, asking for good health, joyful hearts, peaceful spirits, the miraculous power of the Holy Spirit, and God’s blessings upon the mothers and their families.

Pastor Arlene preached on “’The Meaning of Mother’s Day: From Divine Calling to Eternal Impact,” based on 2 Corinthians 4:7. This Bible verse teaches that when we believe in the Lord and place Jesus Christ (the treasure) into our lives (earthen vessels), it reveals that this great power comes from God and not from ourselves. Even though we may seem fragile, like earthen vessels, we can become strong and courageous when we have Jesus Christ within us.

Furthermore, mothers are a gift from God. They need His provision, protection, and guidance to raise children without relying solely on themselves. With God’s grace, they can live a life of mission—one that is abundant, peaceful, joyful, healthy, and fruitful. God’s love is the source of mothers’ strength and the origin of all life. We are grateful for the love and nurturing of mothers, and even more thankful that our entire family is embraced by Christ’s love and protection. At the end of the service, a mother accepted Christ during the altar call. Hallelujah !

Thank God for this day ! Let us continue to pray every mother in our family to be saved and receive the blessings of the Lord’s love and grace. Happy Mother’s Day !
