Year-end Thanksgiving Celebration

Dec 31, 2025

Thank God for His grace through 2025. From 9:00pm, brothers and sisters came to give thanks.

Sisters Lolita and Pik Sai welcomed all to our Thanksgiving Celebration, themed “His Abundance”. It began with an ice-breaking fill-in-the-blank game, where brothers and sisters were randomly invited to share their answers. This led to the purpose of the evening: thanking God by looking back at 2025; and trusting in God while looking forward to 2026.

Then sister Gloria brought us into the spirit of worship with raised hands to glorify God after leading the congregation in proclaiming Psalm 100:1-5, preparing us for grateful praise with joyful songs.

Following that, we partook of the communion in unity with thankful hearts and offered our Thanksgiving offering.  Sisters Lolita and Pik Sai recapitulated the theme, which was a little different: “Abundance – Knowing The Lord,” leading us in giving thanks for the year. Psalm 103:2 was quoted to remind us never to forget the good things God has done for us. We reflected using Slido with 3 questions on different aspects of our lives, with five minutes given to reflect on each question and reply:

  1. How do you see God’s abundance in your life?
  2. How do you see God’s abundance in your care group?
  3. How do you see God’s abundance in the church?

The feedback of the congregation was immediately shown on the screen, and some brothers and sisters were invited to come on stage to share their thanksgiving.

Pastor Gavin shared from Psalm 65:11: “You crown the year with Your goodness, and Your paths drip with abundance,” reminding us that God pours His abundance upon us because of His love. Unlike the yearly sacrifices in the days of Moses, Jesus is our high priest, through His blood our sins are forgiven, and there is no more condemnation. This truth encourages us to continue enjoying His abundance in 2026 with confidence and courage in every situation. Pastor Gavin ended this session by a prayer of blessing upon the congregation, committing us to the Lord in faith.

Around 15 minutes before countdown, Pastor Gavin concluded the Life Adventure of the past 3 years, drawing on spiritual insights from the book of Joshua. He also highlighted the preparation for conquering the Promised Land, which, in today’s context, is the world we are living in. We are called to be strong and courageous in Him, to be “salt and light” in the world.

For the upcoming 3 years of Life Adventure, Pastor Gavin quoted John 17:15-19, emphasizing that we are sent into the world by Jesus Christ to be “salt and light” in the world but not following the system of the world. The themes for each year were as follows:

2026 – A Salt & Light Life – Kept in the World, Protected from Evil
2027 – A Salt & Light Life – Not of the World, Sanctified by Truth
2028 – A Salt & Light Life – Sent into the World, Set Apart for Him

Brother Philip and the team prepared us to welcome 2026 through praise and worship. Everyone was so excited and got into higher spirits when the time drew near. As midnight approached, we counted down, hugged, blessed each other, and danced into 2026 till 12:30am.

We are so blessed to have God with us throughout 2025 as we welcome His abundance in 2026 !
