The theme of this year’s Easter Celebration is “Unbelief into Relief”.

During Refreshing Moment, Pastor shared on the Scripture John 21:15. Unbelief often begins when we depend on ourselves more than on Christ. But God’s resurrection power can transform that struggle into relief – freedom from fear, shame, and spiritual sinking.

After that, sister Elaine and the team led the congregation into a power praise and worship, giving thanks to our Savior Jesus Christ. It wasn’t just offering praises to the Lord – it was an intentional turning of hearts toward the One who brings deliverance.

One of the most moving parts of the service was the video testimony by brother Jun and sister Stephanie from Goodness Group. They shared that they were married in 2017, and planned to have children about two years later. But during a trip in 2019, they encountered a pastor in South Africa, who shared his own testimony of struggling with infertility until God performed a miracle. Their journey became more personal when they visited doctors and learned that both of them faced conditions that made having babies difficult. At that point, they made a decision to commit their situation to God and God told them to wait for 7 years. They also shared the moment when it became clear that God was acting. Their child began life on the 7th day after their 7th wedding anniversary, and their baby was born in August 2025. They named their son “Theodore”, meaning God’s gift. They connected the timing to God’s promise and highlighted how their son’s 100th day birthday aligned with their 8th anniversary. They emphasized that “100” represents completion – God’s promise reaching its intended fulfilment.

The service continued with a skit performed by brothers Chocolate and Lawrence, depicting Jesus and Peter. Using the storytelling style of an AI video, the skit illustrated Peter’s journey. Jesus called Peter to be His disciple but Peter later denied Him three times. The skit then powerfully shifted toward restoration when they acted out the scene portraying Jesus reassuring Peter – calling him back into purpose by telling him to take care of His sheep.

Pastor Gavin preached on the Scripture John 21:15. The title of the sermon is “Unbelief into Relief”. He explained that unbelief begins when we rely on ourselves more than on Jesus. When we depend on human understanding, we may try to “manage” God – how God should work, how His kingdom should advance, and how outcomes should happen. Peter tried to stop Jesus from dying by leaning on his own interpretation. In the end, he even denied Jesus three times. When self-reliance takes over, failure often follows. And failure brings shame and guilt – things that Satan tries to use against us. The sermon emphasized that the antidote to shame is personal assurance. It also compared two scenes involving fire: Peter warming himself near a charcoal fire with others and the fire on the beach where Jesus prepared breakfast and restored Peter through relationship. Jesus led Peter to return to the site of the wound and replace lies with confessions. Peter confirmed love for Jesus three times and Jesus gave Peter a new calling – “to feed My sheep”. The self-reliant fisherman then became a spirit-dependent leader. The sermon concluded by declaring that the risen Christ is still restoring lives today – redeeming the wreckage, redeeming the past, and turning “trying harder” into “trusting deeper.”
