Year End Prayer Meeting
December 31, 2017
Hallelujah. 2017 has come to an end. It was a year of abundant blessing.
Brothers and sisters were at church before 9pm to prepare their hearts for thanksgiving.
Ps. Gavin opened with a prayer, followed by praises to the Lord. Pastor led us to recap the different events of the year and their theme. We were reminded of the importance of personalizing our church mission, keeping the core values of living a Christ-centered life and a Church-centered life. The major events of the year were our annual camp with the theme of, ‘Life Abide in it’. It stressed the main point of abiding in Christ to bear fruit. Pastor did a healing prayer for the congregation before we took our communion and gave our final memorial offering of gratitude. Our 25th anniversary’s theme was, ‘I See’, seeing Christ in everything and not magnifying circumstances or feelings. We need to trust and believe. Our Bible Conference also featured, ‘I See’, looking from the point of view of how Job stood firm in his suffering and began to see God. Pastor prayed for our eyes to be opened to see God in every aspect of our lives. Finally, Christmas was about, ‘He Reveals’, how God revealed His salvation plans for us. All these put together to bring our church to unite in evangelizing. Over the whole year, in both mission field and locally in HK, a total of 17,519 souls were saved. Pastor ended the prayer meeting with our clear direction for 2018 as, ‘Put on Love’ quoting Colossian 3:14. Glory be to God.
At 11.45pm, we sang praises to the Lord as we prepared ourselves to farewell 2017 and received 2018. At the stroke of midnight, we wished each other with love and gestures as we carried on welcoming 2018 in worship.
Thank God for the joyful night !
