19th Anniversary Celebration

Praise the Lord! By the grace of God, it comes to the 19th Anniversary of our church.

The theme for this year is “By Your Side”, giving us a chance to recall how God has been faithfully leading the church with His love and grace in the last 19 years.

Joy and excitement filled the churches hall when the praise and worship team led the congregation into a powerful praise and worship session.

After partaking the cup and the bread, the congregation sat down to enjoy the video testimonies of three sisters in our church.

Sister Dinah from Sub-District 1 shared how she learnt to cast away all her worries by the love of God. God changed her life, giving her the peace of mind as she was willing to forgive the wrongs done to her previously. By her faith, God blessed her and her family in terms of finance, lifestyles and thinking.

Sister Winnie from Sub-District 3 shared how God blessed her in the past year. By her faith to seek God persistently, God blessed her with a job with higher remuneration which would not affect her church schedule. She also shared how God broadened her horizons in the Philippines Mission trips and her care groups. God did miracles for the people in the Philippines through her prayers.

Next, Sister Kat from Sub-District 2 shared her experience with God in the past 10 years. He blessed her with opportunities to love and care the others. She felt that God has always been by her side as she continued to serve the Lord. God also blessed her career and family with His love.

The video was followed by a performance of the brothers and sisters. The performance showed that God is the true light that leads us out of the darkness of our lives, and He is always by our side without leaving or forsaking us.

Then Pastor Gavin came to the stage to give the sermon with the topic – By Our Side (2 Kings 2:1-14). Pastor Gavin shared with the congregation the lesson behind how Prophet Elijah prepared Prophet Elisha before Elisha officially started his ministry. Elisha was taken to four places, which signified four stages of Christians spiritual lives. From the beginning when we accepted Christ, to the stage when we experienced His awesomeness as He revealed His glory and will; from the time when we faced and overcame sins and challenges, to the time when we moved into the ministries, God has been by our side. As Christians we have to stay watchful and seek God as we go along in the spiritual journey.

After the sermon, Pastor Gavin led the congregation to pray for the leading of the Lord in the 20th year of the church and the time to come. Brothers and sisters also prayed for a God-centered mindset, giving Him a free hand to work in our lives. Thank God that 11 people came forward to accept Christ as their personal Saviour.
