Medical Relief I
May 2, 2011
Praise God for leading us to Iloilo, Philippines. It was a week of great harvest. A total of 1734 souls were saved into the kingdom of God!
On 2 May, more than 50 brothers and sisters from Hong Kong and the promised land flew from Hong Kong to Iloilo. Among us were also the medical team, which consisted of 2 medical doctors, a dentist and his assistants.
Our medical relief started on the second day of the journey.
The clinic started in early morning and ran till the late afternoon. Plenty patients came in for free medical treatment. Their medical problems ranged from most trivial to really complicated ones. But no matter what their physical problems were, the gospel was shared with them. Praise God there was a 110% conversion rate! This means the newly converted and their accompanying family members were saved all together.
Miracles were abundant in the venue. Two blind can see again. One even did not wait to get the prescription as he rushed his way back home to tell his son of Gods healing. The deaf can hear again and many sick got healed. Broken hearts were bound together. It is such a joy to see patients leaving the medical relief venue with big smile on their faces.
God has healed not only our physical sicknesses. He also cares for our mental and spiritual well-being. There was a man with psychiatric symptoms who came to our clinic uttering non-sense. He was driven away by some local authorities. But then he was taken back by our brothers and sisters, with a belief that God does not reject the under-priviledged as the world does. The man accepted Christ. After praying, he stopped his non-sense speech and his conscience returned. Praise God!
The week of medical relief concluded with a Word for Life workshop on Saturday morning and Worship Revival in the afternoon. Praise God for making this an opportunity to build local brothers and sisters strong with the Bible. After the anointed Worship Revival, many more accepted Jesus and many got healed of long term pain at the legs and backs. God is our healer.
On Sunday morning was the service time. Thanks God that willing hearts came despite a popular boxing event on that day. With eagerness to know God more, they also attended two classes of Word for Life. Some patients who had been touched by God during the medical relief also brought along their entire families or neighbours to receive Jesus love and healing. It adds tremendous joy to us simply by witnessing the locals rejoice in the Lord.
This week had been an extremely fruitful harvest. Souls were saved into the Kingdom of God each and everyday of the week.
The Philippines need the gospel of God. Let’s press on and continue our Medical Relief this December.
