Caring the Community, Sharing God’s Love II

Praise the Lord for guiding us on a heartwarming visit to the local elderly care service center, bringing joy and love to the community during festive season!

At 9:30 am, a team of 9 devoted brothers and sisters gathered at the Y Care center of Hong Kong Young Women’s Christian Association in Yau Yat Chuen to prepare for a Christmas party. A total of 12 elders were invited to join us. Upon their arrival at 10:00am, we started the event with ice-breaking conversations, greeting them with warm smiles and sharing blessing bags filled with essential items, and capturing the moment through group photos.

Then we encouraged them to participate in games that served as gentle exercises, warming up their physical bodies while providing opportunities for them to connect with each other. Gifts were also presented in a joyful atmosphere. As they became more engaged, we dedicated time to singing familiar melodies with new lyrics that reflected the power of worship as a source of comfort and joy. This echoed with the words in Psalm 95:1, encouraging us to come together and sing to the Lord, making a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!

Afterward, we showed our sincere care for their needs through individual conversations and prayers, following the teachings of Philippians 4:6-7, which guides us not to be anxious about anything but to present our requests to God in every situation by prayer and petition with thanksgiving hearts, then the peace of God, surpassing all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds in Jesus Christ.
