Caring the Community, Sharing God’s Love #3

We thank God for guiding us to share His love and care with the community !

A team of 8 sisters gathered at Yau Yat Chuen for a special event combining a birthday party and Christmas Celebration for the Y Care Centre of the Hong Kong Women’s Christian Association.

At around 10:00am, 16 elders joined. Sister Penny led the team in warmly greeting and introducing ourselves to all the attendees, followed by a prayer to begin the event. She then guided the elders through the birthday celebration. Personalized gifts and cards were presented to the 5 elders celebrating December birthdays, and a cake was shared among everyone. Furthermore, blessing bags filled with essential items and tokens of care were distributed to all participated elders.

Following that, sisters Ivy and Pik Sai invited the elders to participate in a chair dance with gentle exercises. Accompanied by a video song celebrating the coming Christmas, the dance encouraged the elders to move, stay warm, and promote physical well-being. Afterwards, the elders took part in a lively balloon-passing game. They first wrote blessing messages on the balloons and then passed them to one another, spreading love and care while further enhancing the joyful atmosphere in the party room.

Then, sister Elaine shared the meaning of Christmas, highlighting the blessings that come from the birth of Christ, as revealed in the prophecy of Isaiah 9:6: “He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Her message reinforced the miraculous grace and peace that Jesus brings.

After the activities, we spent time in individual conversations and prayers with the elders, expressing our sincere care for their needs. The celebration ended at around 11:10am.

Thank you Jesus for His boundless love ! May we continue to share His Gospel and God’s grace with the community !
