Baby Dedication

Praise the Lord that 7 babies and children were dedicated to our Lord.

Baby Dedication is a ceremony for the believing parents to make a commitment before the Lord to submit a child to God’s will and to raise that child according to God’s Word and God’s ways, and to cover them with prayers until he/she is mature enough to understand the truth of the Gospel in order to make his/her own decision to receive God as personal savior. As the Bible states, Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. (Proverbs 22:6) The dedication prayer does not make the child to become a Christian, but this vow of commitment is to strengthen the parents to raise the child in the ways of God, and not according to their own ways; and also to bestow God’s blessing, love, grace and spiritual protection for the child.

The ceremony was started by a slide presentation showing the babies being dedicated.They are lovely and energetic.After the explanation by Pastor Gavin,the M.C. sister Lai King invited those parents and children to the stage. Pastor Gavin asked all the parents five pledge questions and the parents promised to the Lord to take the responsibilities include teaching and training the child in God’s Word, demonstrating an example of godliness, disciplining according to God’s ways, and praying earnestly for the child. For the last two questions, Pastor Gavin invited the congregation to make a covenant together to provide a loving church and teach the word of God to all the children in the church. At the end of the ceremony, Pastor Gavin presented the Dedication Certificate to all parents and closed with a prayer.

Praise the Lord for the lovely children in the church and also thank God for His blessings in each family. Let’s keep on praying for the children and walk with God wholeheartedly.
