All glory be on to our God!11th July 2010 was a meaningful day for 41 of our brothers and sisters, 15 of which are children from the Children Church. This is the day that they undergo Water Baptism, a significant step in every Christian’s spiritual life.

Following a power-filled Sunday service, these 41 brothers and sisters together with other brothers and sisters and friends set off from Tsuen Wan to Repulse Bay. The entire bus journey was filled with happy chatter.

It was a beautiful sunny day – the perfect weather for the outdoor Water Baptism event. Jack, the Chairperson for this event, started by leading the congregation to say a simple prayer. This was followed by a joyful Praise session led by the Youth Group!

After the Praise session, Pastor Gavin reminded all of us once again that “”we are here today because of Jesus Christ and it is God’s desire for us to be baptized by water. The process of submerging into water and rising again symbolises the death and resurrection of Christ!””
Pastor then asked all those who were going to be water baptized if they were willing to commit to God and encouraged all who were willing to out lift up their right hand to pledge themselves to God. Pastor then led the whole congregation to pray and bless these brothers and sisters. Following this, Pastor presented a certificate to each of them.

All brothers and sisters who were being baptized queued up in an orderly manner by the waters, and one by one was baptised by Pastor Gavin and Brother Allen. It was great to see so many jubilant faces, whether those getting baptized or those who were turned up to witness this wonderful event. Brothers and sisters in the same caregroup as those getting baptised turned up with flowers and/or gifts as a show of love and support. It was really very heartwarming to see the love of God in this family in Christ.

The entire Water Baptism progressed smoothly all praises be on to God. As the event drew to a close, each one of us was already looking forward to the next Water Baptism!
