Caring the Community, Sharing God’s Love I

Feb 7, 2024

Praise the Lord for opening the doors and allowing us to bring joy and love to the community !

For the visit to the elderly center during Lunar New Year festivity, 11 dedicated volunteers gathered at the Y Care center of Hong Kong Young Women’s Christian Association in Yau Yat Chuen by 9:30am.

At 10:00am, a total of 15 elders arrived. The event began with an opening prayer led by Pastor Arlene, after which we proceeded to connect with all the participating elders through warm greetings, self-introductions, the sharing of blessing bags, and the capturing of group photos.

Sisters Elaine and Sammie then led us into a joyful time of singing familiar festive melodies with lyrics conveying God’s blessings. We also showed a video prepared by Hope Kidz, featuring their love to the elders, echoing the teaching in Romans 15:13 that the hope of God fills us with all joy and peace as we believe, and we may abound in the power of Our Lord.

Following this, brother Sam and sister Ivy encouraged all the participants to engage in games that required gentle exercises of their bodies and minds, creating an atmosphere filled with blessings, smiles and laughter.

Afterward, we distributed Fai Chun (Chinese calligraphy for Lunar New Year) prepared by Hope Kidz, presenting the words of blessings from Psalm 100:3, Isaiah 40:31, Proverbs 22:1, and 3 John 1:2. We also shared Gospel by elaborating on these words, and we had individual conversations and prayers with the elders to express our sincere care for their needs. The event ended at 11:10am.

Thank you Jesus for Your grace shining upon the community !
