Kindness Group Local Out-reach 樂在「耆」中

Brothers and sisters planned a creative event to share the Joy of the Lord with the elderly. The weather was awesome, and the guests arrived with excitement. There was much catching up and laughter while waiting for the event to begin.

After the opening prayer, sister Zandy shared about the benefits of reflexology on the hands. Everyone eagerly started massaging their own hands – a simple practice that can be done anytime, anywhere. Next, they played a game focused on eye-hand coordination, engaging both the young and old participants.

The group then watched a gospel movie about a father’s love bringing a family together after experiencing brokenness and bitterness. The film’s message resonated, highlighting that true joy comes from a love that does not focus on self. Zandy followed up by sharing Proverbs 17:22, “A joyful heart is a good medicine,” emphasizing the secret to true joy and how it leads to good health that all of us desire.

After lunch, the search for true joy continued with a video testimony from Chan Yau, a member of the band Wynners. He spoke of finding God when he was lost and helpless after his wife’s incurable diagnosis. The group prayed for all the visitors to receive the true joy and health found in Christ, encouraging them to share their worries with God and praise Him.

To end the joyful day, the hosts prepared a special Chinese ointment gift made by sister Zandy. Martin and Joseph performed a short, humorous skit before distributing the gifts. Everyone was thankful for the wonderful time spent together.
