Father’s Day

June 17, 2012

Praise God for the Father day’s service which service started off with praise and worship centered on the greatness of our Heavenly Father.

Sister Louisa shared her testimony of her relationship with her father. Being grown up as a child with her parents and siblings overseas, she was blessed with a caring uncle who later in life encouraged her to attend church. After accepting Jesus as her saviour, she tasted the love of God and never stop sharing and praying for the salvation of her family. Praise God that she witnessed her uncle, auntie and even her father salvation. And by God’s grace she made up for the time missed with her father, and their relationship grows amazingly.

A special power point was dedicated to all fathers was shown. With pictures of brothers and sisters with their father, alongside with their words of gratitude, the congregation felt the closeness of the fathers and their children. Pastor Gavin then invited all fathers to the stage to received blessing through prayers. After which our children from children church presented gifts to them.

Pastor Gavin then proceed to sharing Word of God ,Joshua 24;14-15. “What is your role? Lead like a father”. He shared that as parents/ spiritual leaders we want to protect our children from evil. He also stressed that fathers not only give to their family but will receive blessings from the Lord as they are the head of the family. There are three important steps that we can all follow. First, we have to lead our children to God instead of ourselves. We can only please God if we follow God’s will wholeheartedly. Second, we need to inspire our child to choose the right way. It is irresponsible to leave them walk which ever way they like. Finally, it is essential that we set up real lives example for them to follow. Joshua lead with example and teach the people why they have to follow the rules. Our children does not need a super dad but a dad who truly follows after God!

In the altar call, Pastor Gavin encourages all who are willing to commit all stages of their lives come up to the front and receive the blessings. Some fathers came up and rededicated their lives to God to receive blessings as the head of the family! It was a touching moment to see fathers coming up one after another, willing to commit their life to the Lord wholeheartedly! Amen!
