Water Baptism I

April 1, 2018

In this afternoon of Easter, 30 brothers and sisters decided to be baptized in His name.

The weather was sunny yet cool at 24 degrees. Over 100 brothers and sisters went along to witness their baptism. It started with joyful Praise and worship.  Then Pastor Gavin explained the importance and significance of baptism. It is God’s plan to have all of us be baptized and to follow Christ. God saved the Israelites from Egypt and went through the Red Sea. The crossing, where they entered the sea which closed up after crossing signified baptism, the immersion and rising into our new life with God’s power, no more turning back to our old life.  Pastor then explained that two questions would be asked before immersing into the water. One is whether they have accepted Christ as their personal savior and the second is that should they encounter challenges in their lives, will they continue to trust and follow Christ? Everyone answered yes. After that, they were baptized in the name of the father, the son and the Holy Spirit, immersing completely into the water and then rising out from it, symbolizing the resurrecting with Christ.

The celebration continued with blessings of prayers and gifts and photography.

Glory be to God for such a wonderful day and new creations of the Lord !
