Easter Celebration

The theme of this year’s Easter Celebration is “Mourning to Dancing”.

During Refreshing Moment, Pastor shared on the Scriptures John 11:25-26. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life”, so whoever lives and believes in Jesus shall not die and shall live. Because of His resurrection, everything has changed. Our life can be changed, from a tragedy to a triumph, and from a hopeless one to a hopeful one. Praise the Lord !

After brother Jack and sister Carrie welcomed everyone, they passed the time to sister Stephanie and her team to lead a joyful praise and worship, celebrating Jesus’ victory.

Then sister Gigi, brothers Bong and Chun from Kindness Group testified about God’s healing power and blessings in a video testimony. Sister Gigi was diagnosed to have an 8cm-sized tumor in her pancreas last July when she had a body check. She consulted two doctors who both gave very negative reports about her condition. She cried out for God’s help in prayer and God answered her prayer very quickly. She was able to have a surgery in August. Though she had been very worried about the surgery, on the day of the operation, after a prayer, she was surprisingly peaceful and the operation was a success. She was grateful for God’s healing upon her and her mother accepting Christ during that time. Then brother Bong thanked God for His blessings and protection upon his health, family and work during the three years of Covid time. He was also touched by God to join the mission trip to the Philippines with other brothers and sisters, including brother Chun. During the trip, they developed closer bonding with one another. Brother Bong has decided to take his son with him to the upcoming mission trip in July this year. Praise God for His miracles upon His people!

After that, there was a special performance. Brothers and sisters acted out the scene where Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead to demonstrate Jesus’ power to overcome death and His love towards His people. At the end of the skit, a group of Filipino sisters performed a tambourine dance celebrating Jesus’ victory and our lives of dancing in Jesus!

Pastor Gavin preached on the Scriptures Psalms 30:11-12. The title of the sermon is “Mourning into Dancing”. Because of the sins today, we may experience times of mourning in our lives. However, the Bible says, “Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted.” Only when we mourn can we find Jesus in our life; only when we realise we have problems will we seek God. What Jesus needs us to give Him is our broken heart. And how can we dance? Dancing means our prayer. Sometimes we can be so sad that we do not want to pray. However, it is very important that in times of trouble, we still keep praying with brothers and sisters and dancing to God. By trusting in God and being grateful in our life, we can turn mourning into dancing and bear fruit.

Praise God for turning our mourning into dancing. Let us continue to remain in Jesus and live a victorious and joyful life !
