Lunar New Year 2022
Feb 6, 2022
Pastor Gavin greeted all the brothers and sisters to have a happy Lunar New Year (LNY). He then continued to share about the Lord’s Prayer and reminded us that we are a part of God’s kingdom and we should let God’s will be done in our lives.
Due to the pandemic, we had the service online. Chairman Alex sent his warmest wishes to all brothers and sisters, and everyone replied with many greetings and wishes for the Year of the Tiger to each other through online chatting. Sister Rosa then led us into a joyful and pleasant praise and worship.
Sister Fan testified on how God blessed her through serving Him. She was reluctant to be involved in church ministry at the beginning because of lacking confidence, skills and time. However, after listening to Pastor Gavin’s preaching on “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9). She suddenly realised that she did not have to be ready in order to serve God and she believed that God would provide what she needed. Later, she was transferred to another department which allows her to be off work on time, so she has more leisure time to learn the electric guitar and join the ministries of Praise and Worship and photo-taking in church. Moreover, she was thankful that God has provided her with a spiritual shepherd who guides her, encourages her and shares experiences of serving God with her. Finally, she shared the Bible Scripture, “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
Afterwards, brothers Sing and Bear introduced an interesting interaction with brothers and sisters through mobile chatting. We played little games and shared each other’s prayers and greetings actively on WhatsApp. All of us enjoyed it!
Pastor Arlene preached on Matthew 8:2-3,13 and entitled the message, “What do you believe in”. God’s blessings are beyond our expectations. The Lord is not only willing to heal those who believe in Him, but also willing to pour blessings immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. What we should do is just to believe in God – believe God is always with us and He is our cornerstone of success; believe God is our strength and His grace is sufficient for us. And we need to abide in Him as God is the vine and we are the branches. Let us walk with God and believe in what the Lord is doing in our lives.
After the LNY worship service, all brothers and sisters met online via Zoom to greet one another with blessing words. We also took photos together by screen capturing.
May every one of us be blessed with great health and abundance in Jesus Christ.
Happy Lunar New Year !F
