Praise & Worship Conference
August 18, 2006
On August 18th and 19th,brothers and sisters from Taipei,Korea,Japan,Macau and the Land joined our Praise and Worship Conference. Teachers, including Pastor Prayuth, were the leading singers, musicians and dancers of the Praise and Worship Team from our mother church, Hope Bangkok.
During the conference, Pastor Prayuth shared with us that a good Praise and Worship paves the way for evangelism, miracles, healing and prophesy. Hearts could be changed and people would get closer to the Lord. During the conference, we had four workshops. They were: How to prepare worship Leading by Pastor Prayuth , Prophetic Dance by Sister Pae , Voice Training for Singers by Brother Tony and Sister Maria and Musical Improvisation by the musicians of the Bangkok Team.
From the workshops, we learned the secret of being a successful Praise and Worship Leader, that is, to have close relationship with God and bring the congregation to worship Him. It should not be merely just singing. In the Prophetic Dancing workshop, sister Pae shared that prophesizing and worshipping God did not require merely our voices, but also our dancing. An elegant and proper dance could honour and express respect to God. Gestures such as hands lifted up with eyes looking down promote humility of a person looking up to God with awe and adoration. At the same time, brother Tony and sister Maria, coached vocal training through singing different keys and singing from the diaphragm.
Not forgetting brother Simon, a drummer from the Bangkok team shared with us that a good relationship with God and the team could inevitably promote a better atmosphere. And the singer, the drummer, keyboardist, guitarist, base guitarist and perhaps the saxophonist must have a good bonding with each other in order to serve God more effectively.
Last but not least, a humble heart to equip, learn and to always improve our musical skills is necessary. We thank God for the teachings of the Bangkok Team. Let’s continue to move on and be better equiped to serve Him.Amen! May the Lord continue to anoint and use each of us to bring more people to Him in His everlasting kingdom.
