Mother’s Day

May 8, 2016

On Mother’s Day, the church was filled with thankfulness. Many brothers and sisters brought their mothers to enjoy this day of abundant blessings. A beautiful photo corner, with handwritten appreciations from different brothers and sisters to salute mothers, was set up for photo-taking. All who came in early took gorgeous photos with their mothers.

The Chairman started with a prayer and thanking God for all mothers, followed by Praise and Worship, bringing congregation to see the heart and beauty of God’s creation to send mothers to nurture children unconditionally, in God’s footsteps.

Sister Janelle testified that she attended church since young and prayed for her parents’ salvation. God answered her prayers. Her father was first to be converted and went with the Lord, subsequently her mother accepted Christ on Mother’s Day in 2010. Her mother was faithful and opened her house for care group. God was with her mother and she could see God’s wisdom working through her mother in many ways. Her mother went also with our Lord peacefully, she was found kneeling down in prayers beside her bed.

Our brothers team dedicated a beautiful song to all mothers, especially to their mothers who attended the service. Mothers were invited on stage to receive a token of appreciation presented by our children church and to take photograph to remember this moment. pastor Gavin also prayed for blessings them.

Pastor then preached on Matthew 15:21-28, entitling ‘A mother of great faith’. He reminded us two points: – Come to the Lord as you are and Seeing God’s heart of love for the world. We do not need to pretend to be “worthy” to come to God for help as HE is our ever-help. God loves us dearly. Pastor ended with a prayer that everyone sees God’s heart and will come to Him as we are and in simple honesty.

A special reception topped up with a lovely dessert was ready for mothers to enjoy and the photo corner was re-opened for those who have not taken their photos.

Thank God for giving us wonderful mothers to celebrate life with.

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers again!
