Water Baptism II

October 8, 2017

Praise the Lord for the great weather !
42 brothers and sisters who decided to glorify His name through baptism, enjoyed the auspicious moment.

All arrived at Repulse Bay by 3pm and got ready for the great moment. Brother Tony started with a prayer and sister Precy led the congregation in praising God. Over 80 brothers and sisters attended to support this event.

Pastor Gavin shared that water baptism was God’s idea, demonstrating our belief in the Lord, our Savior. It is a solemn and holy, special and unique time, to celebrate together, to tell the world of our decision to commit our life to God. The crossing of the Red Sea itself symbolizes water baptism, God rescuing Israelites out of Egypt, meaning saving us out of our oppression and suffering. Walking through the Red Sea, which is walking under the sea symbolizes baptizing into the waters, is a powerful miracle, then rising and walking to Promise Land, buried and rising with Christ, having a new life. We focus on God, no more on our past and self but focus on God.

Pastor explained that he will ask two questions for confirmation.
1. Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?
2. No matter what happens in future, whatever troubles you face, will you continue to trust in Jesus Christ to lead you in the truth that you shall not be shaken?
After confirmation, they will be baptized in the name of the Father, the son and the Holy Spirit, in Jesus name, becoming a new creation with new hope.

Pastor blessed them with a prayer, presented the certificate then baptized them in the sea. It was such a joy to see some families baptized together into the Lord. The baptism ended with a note of great joy and unity.
