Water Baptism
Jun 7 , 2026
Praise the Lord for this amazing day ! 15 brothers and sisters were baptized today at Lido Beach in Ting Kau, publicly affirming their commitment to follow Jesus !
Over 100 brothers and sisters, family and friends boarded 2 coaches from the Church at 3:00pm and set off together for the seaside celebration. A shower fell on the way, but it stopped as we arrived, thanks be to God for answering prayer and for His covering !
The event began at 3:45pm with brother Wai Hong and sister Kat leading a heartfelt opening prayer. Sisters from the Love Group lifted the congregation in joyful praise and worship, their voices blending with the celebratory melody and setting a tone of thanksgiving.
Pastor Gavin preached on the meaning and blessing of baptism, reminding us that baptism is God’s desire for His people and a public reaffirmation of His grace. He pointed to Jesus’ own baptism and explained how the Holy Spirit rests upon those who are baptized, marking a real change in life. Using the picture of the Israelites being saved from Egypt and crossing the Red Sea into a new land, he encouraged the candidates to see baptism as a way into a new creation and a new journey of trust for individuals to grow together with the church.
After a prayer blessing the candidates, certificates were presented to each of them. Before entering the water, each person answered 2 questions:
- Do you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?
- Will you continue to trust the Lord no matter what lies ahead?
Each candidate boldly and joyfully responded “yes” to both with faith. Their affirmations echoed the hope and conviction of hearts fully surrendered to Christ.
Then, one by one, they were brought into the sea, going under as a symbolic picture of the old self dying with Jesus, and rising again as a sign of resurrection and new life in Christ. They were encouraged to enjoy the moment of 5 seconds’ silence in the water to experience God’s presence.
Flowers and souvenirs were given, smiling faces were captured, and the congregation witnessed each baptism with ongoing worship and joyful applause. The event concluded around 4:30pm with grateful hearts.
Congratulations and a warm welcome to all the new creations ! Glory be to God, who alone is worthy of all praise !
