Praise the Lord for the Mother’s Day !

It was the day that we gathered to honour the mothers. Many brothers and sisters arrived early with their mothers to capture joyful moments at the decorated photo corner before the service.

During the Refreshing Moment, Pastor Gavin thanked our Heavenly Father for the joy of gathering to celebrate the mothers among us, and he prayed that each one would experience the Lord’s peace, joy, and renewed strength as they continue to care for their families. He reflected on a mother’s faith through Matthew 17:20–21, reminding us that even mustard‑seed faith can move mountains, and he noted that mothers often express this faith through countless small acts of love while facing many unseen challenges. He shared that the mountain does not disappear but shifts gradually through persistent prayer and sacrificial love, and he prayed that God would strengthen every mother’s faith as they continue to trust Him.

Then sister Stephaine led a beautiful time of praise and worship as the congregation lifted their voices with joy, giving glory to God and welcoming His presence. And after taking communion, sister Gloria from the Faithful Group testified how God had poured grace upon her family. Since coming to Christ, she had prayed faithfully for her family’s salvation, especially her mother, and earlier this year, Faithful Group created a prayer list for unsaved family members, prompting her to place her mother’s name on it in trust that God would open a way. During her mother’s knee condition, God arranged every step with peace, timely help, and the loving support of church sisters, and in a care group visit filled with worship and God’s presence, her mother accepted Christ. That night, she slept without taking pain medication and woke with no pain, and from that day onward no longer needed painkillers, leading Gloria to conclude her testimony by giving all glory to God.

During the presentation, sister Pik Lin and Ivy lifted letters from the basket, each one expressing a mother’s deep love and hopes for her children. Whether for health, studies, work, character, or future relationships, these mothers entrusted their children to God, and afterward, all mothers enjoyed a joyful group photo, received a flower, and received Pastor Gavin’s prayer of blessing.

Pastor Arlene preached on Anchoring Faith from Hebrews 11:23, reminding us that Moses’ mother, Jochebed, faced the great challenge of Pharaoh’s decree to kill all new born Hebrew boys. By faith, she hid her child, entrusted him to God in a basket, and had it flowed on the river. God’s miracle unfolded as Pharaoh’s daughter found Moses and allowed Jochebed to raise him. This shows that when we submit our children to God in faith, His blessings exceed what we ask or imagine.

Pastor Arlene noted that today’s mothers do not face Pharaoh’s decree yet still encounter pressures shaped by daily responsibilities, educational expectations, rapid technological change and concerns about their children’s wellbeing, and many quietly consider how to guide their families through these uncertainties. She concluded by reminding the congregation that Hebrews 6:19 describes hope in Christ as the anchor of the soul, and like Jochebed, mothers can place their trust in God, who remains present and unchanging and continues to guide His people with steady care.
