Manila Mission
Mar 23-26, 2024
We are delighted to share the incredible experiences and blessings that unfolded during the Manila Mission, which took place from March 23rd to March 26th, 2024. A team of 15 brothers and sisters embarked on this mission with the primary goal of spreading the love and teachings of Christ.
Upon our arrival in Manila, we wasted no time and immediately headed to our care groups in Arkong Batu. Sister Ivy, brother KT, and sister Kat shared the Word of God in these three care groups, touching the hearts of those in attendance. The highlight of these sessions was witnessing eight individuals accepting Jesus Christ into their lives, bringing immense joy and gratitude to our team.
The following day, we had the privilege of attending the Sunday service. Sister Ivy delivered a compelling sermon that resonated deeply within us, inspiring us to reflect on our faith and relationship with God. In addition to the adult service, we were fortunate to have Hope Kidz, a special program where talented children led an uplifting praise and worship session. Sisters Susan, Stella, Monica, and brother KT skilfully guided the young ones in understanding the Fruits of the Spirit through engaging games and creative crafts. The children had such a fun time together and they all had ice-cream as a special treat! In the adult service, 4 individuals were moved by the Holy Spirit during the Sunday service, choosing to embrace Christ as their Saviour.
After the service, we proceeded to Arkong Batu High School to set up for our community service event. The scouts from the school generously offered their assistance, and together we prepared the venue to serve the local community. We have blood pressure station, eye check-up, counselling, and haircut station. Bro Dee and sis Tinlai who were serving at the haircut station were busy throughout the event, the long queue never ended, and they kept on with the heart of giving them the best. It was with great delight and gratitude that we witnessed a remarkable total of 177 individuals embracing Christ through our community service efforts. The impact of this outreach was truly awe-inspiring. In the evening, we cherished a beautiful time of fellowship with the local DMM team, strengthening our connections and bonds with one another.
Day 3 stands out as a day of divine intervention, as God led us back to the very place where we held our first Medical Relief event in Arkong Batu back in 2010. Our hearts were filled with awe as we bore witness to a miraculous healing. A man approached us, relying on a walking frame for mobility. Brother Joseph shared the gospel with him and fervently prayed for his healing. Miraculously, filled with faith, the man left his walking frame behind and went to get a haircut. When he returned to us later in the afternoon, he expressed his deep gratitude for the prayers, having completely forgotten his previous dependence on the frame. We rejoiced and praised God for this remarkable testimony, recognizing His power to heal and transform lives.
In total, this mission led to an astounding 529 individuals accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. We are humbled and profoundly grateful for the salvation they have found through Him. The impact of these decisions will have a ripple effect, touching the lives of countless others in the days and years to come.
As Day 4 arrived, we returned to Hong Kong, carrying with us the profound experiences and encounters with God throughout this mission. Our hearts were filled with gratitude and our faith strengthened by the testimonies we witnessed. We can confidently proclaim that He is good all the time.
We extended our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed, supported, and prayed for the success of the Manila Mission. All the prayers and support of brothers and sisters played a crucial role in the transformation of lives and the spreading of God’s love.
Together, we have witnessed lives transformed, souls saved, and communities impacted by the love of Christ. Let us carry the light of Christ and spread His love to the ends of the earth, we look forward to future missions and the opportunities they bring to make a difference in the lives of others.
