Church Picnic

December 12, 2002

The church picnic was held on 29 Dec 2002 at the Victoria Peak. The theme was “Close to Nature, Close to You”.

When was the last time you joined a mass picnic? For many of us city dwellers, it was so long ago. Maybe back in primary school days! Anyway, for this time, it was certainly more than a picnic!

There were 5 bus loads of us heading up, moving with us lots of food and drinks. After our stomachs were satisfied, we had a number of praise songs together. What an appropriate time and place to give thanks to our Heavenly Father! There was a line-up of around 10 guitarists to make the music heard in the open. It was quite a sight to see such a large ensemble of guitarists.

What was more! The organizers brought up little glasses and decorative materials for us to make candle cups. Those who were highly skillful in making handicrafts had the chance to show off their talents and produced some really beautiful pieces. However, they did not get to keep them. The catch was – the cups were meant to be exchanged with others!

We all had a great time and many of the visitors had enjoyed themselves very much. The organizers had done a great job and we look forward to the next action day!
