Medical Relief I

July 23, 2013

This year more than 100 our church members took part in the recent Medical Relief, it was so encouraging to see all brothers and sisters going there with the same heart and same spirit. God has continued to open up the ground and the great harvest that He had promised since we started going two years ago.

Coming into the sixth time of medical relief. God had led our church into the schools in Philippines. The medical relief were held in schools and this gave us opportunity to share the gospel with the students and the teachers. God had directed us to the next generation, they are the ones who would bring change for the better to the nation and God wants to give them hope and direction through His love and words. God is indeed almighty and He knows the needs of His people.

The Medical relief was carried out into two sections. One section was the doctors ( Dr Kendall and Dr Esther and local doctors) attending to the patients. Praise God that this year we have dentists Dr Daniel and Dr Eunjin( and Dr Daniel brought his team along) . The other was health check and talk for the students and teachers.

Like what we did in the past , we have counsellors ready to share the gospel and pray for the needs of the people. God is faithful and we experienced so many wonderful healing and miracles of God. A boy whose right ear wasn’t developed regained his hearing after receiving Christ and prayers. Hallelujah! God’s love was present in the hearts of patients and our brothers and sisters in the counseling area. The word ‘joy’ was written all over their face. So many miracles and healing that were witnessed throughout the processes.

As for the health check and talk, brothers and sisters set up video and talks on the cons of smoking to the high school students and dental health to the elementary students. The most important part was sharing the gospel to them , bringing God into their lives. It was really amazing to see the students coming to God and we could see the students opening up their hearts and share their worries and hope for the future as we prayed together. The talk with teachers and principals allowed us to build up good relationship and understanding of what we are doing here in Philippines. It opened up the way for future partnership and praise God that two schools had agreed to let us start the student fellowship in the school.

Apart from that, the weather was great. There was breeze throughout the time there, heavy shower was expected but it never happened. God is faithful!

On the Sunday, water baptism was conducted. Followed that we have our Sunday service which was held in the school. There was about 400 people who praise and worshipped the Lord, all of them were so keen to draw near to God. As Pastor Gavin preached the Word of God, we were reminded again of the blessings of following and obeying God.

At the end of the event, over 3000 accepted Christ.

Thank God for giving us this honor to participate in the revival of Philippines.

May all the glory and honor be unto our Lord Jesus Christ !
