Caring for the Elderly (St. James Settlement) at Sheung Wan 2026

Jun 30, 2026

We lift our hearts in thanksgiving to Almighty God, who has graciously guided us to walk in His love and service through the Home Care and Support Services program organized by St. James Settlement for more than a decade. By His mercy, we have been able to bring comfort, joy, and fellowship to the elders living in Sheung Wan.

Thank God for His leading and for the commitment of brothers and sisters. Our monthly caring visits have become a living testimony of God’s compassion. Each gathering is arranged by brother Wai Hong, supported by brothers and sisters from our church, and joined by family members, friends, and children who come together in unity to share Christ’s love. What began as simple acts of service has grown into bonds of genuine friendship. The elders have welcomed us into their lives, opening their hearts, sharing their joys and burdens, and embracing us as if we were part of their families.

Every smile we see, every heartfelt conversation, and every moment of encouragement is a reminder of God’s presence amongst us. The elders’ openness and sincerity inspire us to continue serving with humility and joy. Their gratitude strengthens our faith, and their stories remind us of the beauty of God’s grace in every season of life. Through these visits, we have not only provided daily necessities but most importantly, offered constant care, love, and companionship as a reflection of Christ’s command to love one another (Matthew 22:39).

This ministry is more than outreach, it is a calling through which God’s love flows, touching lives and spreading the Gospel. We give thanks that He has chosen us to be His hands and feet, to carry His light into the homes of the elderly. As we look ahead, we remain affirmed in our commitment to continue this service.

Praise be to God, who calls us to serve with joy in His everlasting love. By His grace, we will remain faithful in following Jesus, sharing His love and care with our community !
