Medical Relief I

July 24-28, 2019

Praise God as we celebrate another wonderful Medical Relief with about 160 brothers and sisters ranging from 6 to 82 years old participated. As a family, we walked on with Him joyfully.

This time in Cebu, Philippines, we witnessed over 8,700 lives saved (patients and health talks).  Apart from doctor check up, eyes check up, haircut, hair styling and health talk. We were blessed with a chiropractic doctor, Dr. Liao who treated about a hundred patients. Our Medical Relief manifested with God walking before us. God provided wonderful people and venues. Our faithful “Charlie Angels” doctor team and nursing teachers who followed us with their students throughout the Medical Relief.

Despite the hot and humid weather in the daytime, everyone stayed focused on the path of serving God’s people and sharing the gospel with them. Many sick were healed and troubled hearts were released. God’s presence gave everyone the strength to overcome the environment and to care for each other’s need. During the process, we all had a good time catching up with each other including the local team, sharing our personal testimony of God’s faithfulness and goodness in our lives. Smile, Care and Love were so evident throughout the Medical Relief.

On Sunday, the Gym was flooded with people as Pastor Gavin shared on “He Redeems”. Ephesians 1:7 (NKJV) In Him, we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His Grace. He brought the congregation to focus on the grace of God and the work that was done by Jesus on the Cross. The price of our sins had been paid despite what we see around us. Many eyes were opened to the truth and were set free by His Words. They responded fully to God’s word and were restored in His love. John 8:32 (NLT) “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Hallelujah!

On the other hand, the children in the children church had an opportunity to watch a drama, ”Jesus calms the Storm” put up by the team.  The rooms were filled with laughter and clapping of hands. They learned to put their trust in the Lord and a fun time praising and worshipping God. They then chose different activities linked to the drama to deepen their understanding of Jesus’s love for them. Praise God!

It was such a great time for all!  Towards the end of the Service, before blessing bags were passed out to the congregation, everyone sang praises to the Lord again and it was such a magnificent sight. Upon receiving the blessings, everyone left feeling, thankful, hopeful in His love….

All are blessed in the Kingdom of God and as we walk with Him. Though it may be the end of the July Medical relief, but the work in Philippines continues throughout the year with weekly care groups in homes and schools and Sunday Service.  Let God work in each and everyone one of our lives.  See you all in Nov Medical Relief and God bless you all!
