Blood Donation

April 29, 2011

Blood donation day this year falls on a somewhat rainy Friday evening. The bad weather and the attraction of a Friday night had not stopped us from doing God’s work. Starting from 4.30pm, willing hearts arrived at the church for blood donation. By dinner time, more and more brothers and sisters arrived after work, some even in their full work attire. Amongst the crowd were also plenty young people adding much energy to the event.

The Hong Kong Red cross sent out its team. After a brief survey and interview with nurse, participants proceeded to blood donation one by one. This year there were ten camp beds, occupied at nearly all time. However, the waiting time passed more swiftly than it actually meant, as the whole venue is filled with joyful chats and laughter.

Praise God this year we have in total about 100 participants and 86 successful blood donations.

The event has made a good opportunities for us to share the gospel with our friends and families. Surely the seeds of love have been planted amongst our visitor hearts. As we do not love with words of the lips, but with real action, as Jesus teaches us.

Let’s continue to shine for Jesus, living as salt and light in our community.
