Father’s Day 2021

June 20,  2021

Praise God that we not only have our father on the earth, but also our Heavenly Father. It was time to celebrate and express our love to father!

Pastor Gavin started the Sunday service by continually sharing the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9). God reigns over the earth through us to make the world a God’s blessed place. What we need to do is surrender to God sovereignty through Jesus Christ, having life in all its fullness!

After having the wonderful praise and worship led by sister Elaine and the team, brother Fei joyfully testified about he is going to be a father. He gave thanks to God for leading and blessing his family during the ups and downs in the 5 years of marriage. Despite his diagnosis of infertility, he and his wife refused to have artificial fertilization. They believed that God would provide and bless them. So they “seek first His kingdom and His righteousness”. Thank God his wife was naturally pregnant at the beginning of this year. He ended the testimony by sharing Proverbs 16:9, “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.”

Following was a skit about a father’s love for his son. In the beginning, there was a conflict between the father and the son since the son wanted to study drama at university but his father wanted him to study medicine instead. The son felt sad of his father not supporting him, while the father thought the son was not mature and misunderstood his heart. However, because of love, the father put down himself and expressed his support to the son. The story demonstrated that a father always loves his son, just like our Heavenly Father always loves us and provides the best to us.

After that, all fathers were invited to the stage for photo taking and prayers. Fathers received a happy emoji cushion as a gift. Pastor Gavin then prayed for them to have good health, joyful heart and sweet spirit everyday.

Pastor Arlene preached the topic “Happy Papa” from Proverbs 23:24-25. A righteous man brings great joy and blessings to the whole family. To become the righteous man, we just need to believe and accept Jesus Christ as our personal saviour. In Christ, we will have fullness of joy, have no more burdens but abundant life. It is because our Father in heaven really loves us. Let us cling to Jesus and be happy people!

Happy Father’s Day!
