Water Baptism II

June 18, 2006

In the afternoon of the Father’s Day, we had our water baptism at Repulse Bay . Filled with joy and excitement, 38 brothers and sisters, including 9 children, were waiting to be baptized under a hot sunny weather. They were all wearing white T-shirts designed by the Care Department. Praise the Lord for the great weather and all the faithful brothers and sisters who have determined to devote their lives to Jesus Christ.

The ceremony was chaired by Brother Jack. After Brother Philip led us to praise God, two sisters came out to give their testimonies. The first testimony was given by Sister Mary from the Filipino group. She shared with us how she left God in the past and how God called her again. Mary was raised in a Christian family so she received Christ when she was a child. However, when was working in Taiwan , she did not have a desire for God’s Word and even started relationship with a non-Christian. After she got married, her husband lost his job and their relationship was bad. But when she sought God, she experienced His love once again. After that, God provided her with a job in Hong Kong and her husband got a job as well.

The second testimony was delivered by Sister Debbi (SD1). Debbi testified how God has changed her character. She has been changed from a selfish and quick-tempered person to one who can see things from other people’s perspectives. Her relationship with her husband was once quite bad but now she learns to love him with God’s love. However, there was a period of time that she stopped going to church. At that time, she felt something wrong in her life. She had no peace. Then she prayed to God and asked God not to forsake her. After that, she started to go to church again and continue to grow in the Lord.

It was really a special water baptism as this was the first water baptism for the Hope of God Children Church. Thank God for these little brothers and sisters who were great testimonies for the Lord.

Praise the Lord for all of these new creations. Let’s continue to pray for their growth in the family of God. Let us work together and be united to serve God more and more.
