22nd Church Anniversary Celebration

August 24, 2014

“I Receive !”

Praise the Lord for we have received His abundant grace and guidance throughout these 22 years!

More than 400 brothers, sisters and friends gathered at Hope Centre for the anniversary celebration service.  Following the video opening, the congregation praised and worshipped the Lord together with joy and thanksgiving.

After partaking communion, we watched the video testimony of three faithful brothers and sisters.

Firstly, Brother Wing from SD3 shared how his life was changed completely since he came to Christ last year.  He was freed from his past bondage and is now walking joyfully and peacefully in the light of God.  He even spread the gospel to his colleagues in China when he went on a business trip.

Then, Sister Pearl from SD1 shared how God embraced her when she was a “bad girl”, and miraculously healed her when she was facing health problem.  God also gave her the strength to overcome her weakness, anger and unforgiveness, and restored her relationship with her family.

Finally, Sister Gloria from SD5 shared how God’s love molded her character, and also healed her from her sickness.  She also shared how she was deeply touched by God’s love during Medical Relief, which encouraged her to return to the Philippines every year to share the love with those in need. Praise the Lord for all of His blessings !

It was then time for the performance.  Four colours of blue, purple, red and white  were shown to represent the Holiness & Righteousness,Kingship,Salvation and Pure.

Then came a king and his beautiful bride , he gracefully walked down the isle to be united with her groom.   This represents the relationship of Jesus Christ and His bride – the Church.  After the union, our sisters gave an energetic dance performance in celebration.  Praise the Lord for His unconditional and everlasting love for us!

Pastor Gavin then gave a sermon from Colossians 2:6-7 on this year’s theme “I Receive”.   We have all “received” Christ into our lives by believing in what He has done for us.  God’s will for His people is to embrace Christ into our lives and lead a Christ-centered life, walking in Him and building up our faith.  By being part of a church, we can walk in Him together with our spiritual family, learning to love and be loved.  As we exercise our faith, very importantly, we should learn to give thanks to the Lord in all circumstances.  Pastor reminded us that, as we give thanks to the Lord in everything, His peace would follow.

Finally, at the alter call, 12 new souls received Jesus Christ into their lives!

Praise God for He is good all the time!
