Christmas Celebration

December 25, 2022

Merry Christmas !

The theme of this year’s Christmas Celebration is “He is enthroned”. Before the service began, Pastor Gavin shared on Luke 1:32-33. Christmas is the time concerning Christ, the four “P” of Christ – His purpose (Yeshua – Jehovah saves), His Presence (Immanuel – God with us), His position (Son of the Highest) and His Power (He is enthroned as King of kings and Lord of lords). Today, Jesus is enthroned high above the heavens. He desires that we all receive this good news of hope and enthrone Him in our life.

To start the worship service, brother Alex welcomed everyone and explained the usage of this year’s souvenir which is an ornament with an illuminating board where we can write blessing words and give our friends as a gift. After that, brother Jun and his team led us to dwell in a powerful praise and worship.

Then a video testimony was shown. Sisters Mandy, Lemon and Virgin from Faithful Group shared how they experienced breakthroughs through involving in the production of the 30th Church Anniversary MV testimony of their group. First, sister Mandy testified that God renewed her heart by reminding her it was not an assignment but a process to experience Him. She also experienced His power and supply in completing the MV. Sister Lemon was invited to prepare the English subtitles for the MV. Although she worried that her English might not be good enough to do the task, she accepted the challenge. She was later asked to be the MC at the new 30th MV Testimony Award Ceremony to do translation. She remembered God gave her word “breakthrough” at the beginning of 2022. And now she could really experience the breakthrough with His strength. Sister Vigin said she also experienced the breakthrough of not relying on her own experience. She was responsible for shooting and the post-production of the MV. Even though she was busy with work and had to work overtime, she did not feel tired when making the MV. She felt energetic and strengthened, which was by God’s power indeed. They all experienced joy and breakthroughs when serving God together.

After that, brothers and sisters performed a skit about a girl who is alone on her birthday finds the meaning of life and the reason for celebrating Christmas. As the girl’s parents are away on her birthday, which is December 25, they have booked a restaurant for her to celebrate with her friends. However, all her friends are not available on that day. By coincidence, the girl meets all those friends at a church and then she knows they all come to celebrate the birthday of Jesus, who is our savior. Jesus welcomes everyone to join His party and those who are willing to come can enjoy His presence and have an abundant life in Him.

Then Pastor Gavin preached on Luke 1:32-33. In the Old Testament, the Israelites might question God during the time of oppression, just as we might do during the three years of pandemic. However, when we see that God is the king of our life in whatever circumstances, we will realize that everything makes sense. God calls us to enthrone Him in our life personally. How can we enthrone Jesus in our life? We should bow our knees, that is, humble ourselves and confess Jesus is our king. When we enthrone Jesus in our life, we will realize that the things happen to us make sense and God will continually revitalize us. He will revitalize us with passion and elevate our skills and interests, enabling us to influence others to do the same thing – enthrone Jesus in their life.

Thank God for giving us grace and peace. Let us continue to put our trust in the Lord and believe that the year 2023 will be a year of rain of abundance.

“FamilyMart”

After the Christmas Celebration, we had our long-awaited FamilyMart. Brothers and sisters set up different booths selling an array of products, ranging from food and clothing to accessories and pot plants. There were even a massage corner and handmade photo frame workshop. The lucky draw, singing and dancing performances further boosted the excitement.

Brothers and sisters were so devoted to raising the church building funds through their creativity and talents. Both our members and visitors enjoyed the event so much.  Praise the Lord !
